The Wisdom Clock
The Wisdom Clock
Born into light and breathing life
Living the balance of happiness and strife
Lost in the loneliness of never really knowing others
Our brain unraveling the world in layers
Grown in the government hothouse
The cat's lair with our lives the voting mouse
Love to the rescue into our family castle
We learn to escape the system's tentacles
The more we read, the more we study
The more we see the lies and the truth presented muddy
We dig in and pull harder to overcome
Our freedom and knowledge under tyranny's thumb
Yet we persist and turn to God for refreshment
Filling out minds with more academic enchantments
Beating the wrath of time and lost pursuits
To fill our vessel with treasure and good fruits
To run strong and cross the finish line
Knowing that eternity reveals all secrets in paradise sublime
But in this life honestly count one thing
Even Socrates believed that he knew nothing
